Bill Cosby Arrested For Jaywalking

Bill Cosby was arrested for jaywalking yesterday in New York City.

The 77-year-old was on his way to a stand-up performance when a NYPD officer saw him cross Seventh Avenue without using a crosswalk.

“I don’t normally arrest someone for such a small crime,” explained officer Todd Stanton to the New York Herald. “But in this case I thought I’d make an exception. If anyone deserves to be behind bars it’s this guy.

“I would love to arrest him for rape, of course. But unfortunately in this country a violent sexual assault committed years ago is harder to punish than the crime of walking across the street improperly.”

Cosby was released after police realized the charges weren’t serious enough to hold him overnight.

The star of the 1980s sitcom “The Cosby Show” faces numerous allegations of rape from more than 25 women who claim they were drugged and sexually assaulted by the comedian over a span of decades. He denies the allegations.
