People who believe in their own racial supremacy tend to be a very poor representation of their race, a new study has found.
Researchers at the University of North Haverbrook spent a year studying the lives of about 5,000 people who espoused white supremacist views, visiting isolated communities in the American Midwest, central Russia, eastern Germany and rural South Africa.
The researchers concluded in their report, “Masters of Nothing,” released this week, that these white supremacists fail to show evidence that they are a master Nordic race that is superior to other ethnic or religious groups. A smaller study found similar results for Black Nationalists.
“White supremacists tend to be drug addicts, with methamphetamine or OxyContin being top drugs of choice,” the study says. “They also tend to be poorly educated, have limited life experience, be unemployed, be convicted felons, and be sexually active with family members.
“There were no scientists, engineers, academics, entrepreneurs, artists, novelists or anyone of note living in these communities who demonstrated they were part of a master race.
“There is also a limited understanding of how they can change things for the better through political advocacy or hard work. since they have very little civic engagement in politics, with the exception of Internet message boards and Twitter.
“There is also no effort to align with other people of different races and religions for a common cause.
“As a result, their white supremacist beliefs are easily and often exploited by academic frauds, intellectual charlatans and unscrupulous politicians for their own political and economic gain.”

The study finds that white supremacists tend to have lower IQs and poor reasoning skills “when compared to educated, well-read and compassionate people of any race or religion.”
“They tend to think of race in generalities, such as all Asians are smart, all Jews are rich and powerful, and all black people are violent, with no understanding that such stereotypes and generalities fail to understand the complexity of groups and individuals.
“The supremacists also lacked critical thinking skills and failed to grasp many concepts such as history, economics, sociology, domestic and foreign policy, political science and reading comprehension.
“They obsess over historical events like the American Civil War and World War II, even when they have little to no connection to any of these events.”
The study also notes that it was difficult to find test subjects who could demonstrate pure European genes, given the history of racial intermixing throughout the world.
One of the test subjects, a blind American white supremacist named Clayton Bigsby, claimed he was pure 100 percent Nordic European, although tests showed he was 80 percent black African, 10 percent European and 10 percent Cherokee Indian.
In a smaller companion study, the researchers looked at 200 black nationalists in Harlem.
"It's pretty much the same story," the authors say. "Black nationalists are mostly welfare recipients too dumb to know where their benefits come from."
The researchers said they plan to expand the scope of their research by studying racism all over the world, from Europe and the Middle East to Asia and Africa, to see if there is a trend in their findings.
