Friends star David Schwimmer was nominated for a Golden Globe today, cementing his long-awaited comeback after more than a decade spent outside the public eye.
Best known for playing Ross on the biggest sitcom of the 1990's, the now-struggling actor snagged the nom for his performance as "Young Thark Warrior #3" in John Carter.
Although the film itself was panned by critics and failed spectacularly at the box office, the Hollywood Foreign Press praised Schwimmer's 90-second performance as "breathtaking"' and "pure cinematic delight" and nominated him for the Best Supporting Actor With Less Than 5 Minutes of Screentime award.
Schwimmer's success comes on the heels of successful comebacks from his fellow Friends co-stars. Jennifer Anistion has maintained a thriving movie career. Both Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow star in critically acclaimed television shows.
Even Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey on the show, won a Golden Globe last year for playing himself in a Showtime series.
