Sarah Palin: “I’m Glad Mr. Ferguson Wasn’t Indicted”

Nov 24, 2014

palin1000fergusonSarah Palin confused the city of Ferguson, Missouri with police officer Darren Wilson tonight on national television.

In an interview on Fox News, the former Alaska governor said she was happy that “Mr. Ferguson” was not indicted in the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

Brown, an unarmed black teenager, was shot and killed by police officer Darren Wilson in the town of Ferguson on Aug. 9. Palin has apparently been confusing the two names for months.

“Mr. Ferguson was just a good officer doing his job,” she told host Sean Hannity. “And the Ferguson family has been a pillar of that community for decades.

“The police need to be able to deal with thugs without worry they will get in trouble. This is a great example of showing how America has the best justice system in the world. I just can’t believe Officer Ferguson did anything wrong. He could have died in the incident.”

After a long investigation, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch announced tonight that officer Wilson would not be indicted. Reactions of the news flooded social media and news outlets.

In a subsequent interview tonight with the Alaskan Moose Gazette, Palin was asked about victim Michael Brown.

“We all know stealing is wrong and sometimes these things happen,” she told the paper. “It shouldn’t take away from the fine job police do all over this country. Law enforcement officials are role models and heroes. Hopefully, people learn from this.

“I just pray Obama doesn’t take this matter into his own hands. The justice system has spoken, Mr. President, so keep your hands away.”

In final words she told the paper, “My prayers go out to Mr. Ferguson and the entire Ferguson family.”

Lets see the video. Everything is on tape now.

This is an example of when fiction is almost stranger than fact. I wish Palin was interviewed more often, it’s painfully hilarious. The fact that people think she’s a great political mind is just painful..

  • FeRD

    Commenter’s! #AMIRITE?

  • Breezeyguy

She’s still way superior to Obama and Biden.

  • Breezeyguy

Yes, Sarah is an intelligent and down to earth good woman. If she did say this, it was just a slip up. Remember when she said “party like it’s 1773″, how hard they laughed, but she was right and they were stupid AND arrogant.

  • EdCoulter

You may laugh but Sarah Palin refudiated all those who thought there was a chance for justice.

  • Danceswithdachshunds

Yeah, and so many people believed her when she said she could see Russia from her house. ( /sarc )

  • Danceswithdachshunds

Biden told us to go out on the back porch at night and fire off BOTH barrels of your double barreled shotgun as a warning shot, (leaving you, outside, defenseless and in the dark..).

The difference between that and your piece of rubbish called ‘satire’ is that the former is a fact and will remain one along with a lot of other gaffs lunatic Joe has actually made.

  • Guest

Sarah Palin has been proven right on innumerable issues and yet the left refuses to give credit where credit is due. Whether Obamacare or IRS intimidation or Common Core or Quantitative Easing or Ukraine,to name a few, Palin has been right and the left still refuses to listen.

Sarah Palin was a sitting governor, and at that time, before the Obama campaign and their allies in the press spent months relentlessly smearing her good name, she had the highest approval ratings of any governor in the country.

Sarah held progressively higher office; she has many years executive management experience at local, regional and state levels and has a history of being a reformer and taking on powerful interests for the benefit of ordinary people.

She was a fiscal conservative who made the largest veto cuts in Alaska history, reined in the reckless waste, cut her own expenses, sold the governor’s private jet, let the personal chef go, and put away billions of dollars in savings for Alaska for a rainy day.

She was a tough CEO who went toe to toe with the Big Oil companies and fought to get the best deal for Alaskans, the resource owners she represented.

Taking on corruption and crony capitalism has always been a cornerstone of Sarah Palin’s agenda; in Alaska she did take on the old-boy network — the oil companies and her own party .As oil and gas commissioner, Sarah Palin called out the unethical practices of members of her own party. As Governor, she sought to end the back room deals and improper relationships between oil companies and politicians.

And she did all of this as a woman from a modest background who was entirely self-made – without the benefit of a rich or influential father or husband. All of Sarah Palin’s success was due entirely to her own hard work and intelligence.

  • Breezeyguy

Who the heck reads the “about” page? They should have the “Our stories are purely fictional.” disclaimers on every page.

By the way, “satire” does not necessarily convey “flatly false”.

  • Sandy

Wow, I didn’t know they let people use the internet in mental hospitals.

  • pragmastist

I giver her credit where it’s due but she quit mid-term as governor to pursue a more lucrative career and she was not fit to be in any higher office than governor. All politicians are full of bs but they usually know it, she seems to believe her own crap.

  • FeRD

Why should they need to post giant alarm flags saying “THIS STORY IS SATIRE, DON’T BELIEVE IT!” just because some people are dumb and fall for it? They’re under no obligation to ensure that you don’t get fooled, if you’re too lazy to confirm and are willing to believe everything you read then that’s on you.

People should assume everything they read on the Internet is not true, by default. Until given reason to think otherwise. That’s how you avoid being lied to by propaganda machines disguised as “legitimate” “news” organizations.

  • Breezeyguy

    Because otherwise they are lying.

Normal relations between human beings require that we assume we are relating honestly. Every SNL skit is in the context of SNL. There is no context here about this being a joke site.

If you want to see what a joke site should look like, here’s a good one:
    daletoons.blogspot.com

  • FeRD

Your example destroys your own argument. Saturday Night Live doesn’t keep a “THIS IS SATIRE!!” warning flashing on the bottom of the screen at all times — you know that because you know that Saturday Night Live is a comedy show. If someone just stepped off a bus and was seeing a Saturday Night Live political sketch for the first time, they could conceivably think it was real.

By the same token, The Daily Currant is a satire website, just like SNL is a comedy show, and also just like The Onion (which also carries no disclaimer on its pages, FYI) is a satire website. When you know that, you know what to expect from anything posted here. It is exactly the same thing.

So, by your own argument, the About page is more than sufficient. The fact that an article is in the context of The Daily Currant indicates that it is satirical. Now that you know that, there’s no confusion.

  • Breezeyguy

SNL is a known comedy. Nobody ever heard of this website before. The link that got me here assumed it was honest. No, I think this site crosses the line. Putting “Palin:” in a headline and following it with a false quote, that’s lying, especially with her real picture there.

  • FeRD

Trust me, this is not the last time you will be lied to on the internet.

Heck, it’s not even the last time today.

  • Breezeyguy

Yet you say “Trust me”? Ha! Did you even notice the irony in that?

  • Lemuel Vargas

Or the other way around is also good…

  • Lemuel Vargas

ROLFMAO. Are you kidding me? Do you not know that The Daily Currant is a satirical site?

  • Lemuel Vargas

You already know the reason whys she resigned but you could not just accept it.

  • Lemuel Vargas

You do know that The Daily Currant is a satirical site…

  • centralparksouth

I know it but 90% of the Liberal loons who re-post it on twitter utterly believe it-a sad commentary of leftists and their level of education

  • pragmastist

Do you know what the Bush Doctrine was? With Palin the line between satire and fact is very thin, there should be a quiz of twenty quotes and whether she said them or not. The ones she said would be more ridiculous than the ones written by professional satirists.

  • pragmastist

I know the reason why people like you support her, it’s called living in a fantasy.

  • Lemuel Vargas

You are. one. who really wants to believe that an article written in a satirical site is fact. Do you even know what satire means? Google it up to be enlightened…

  • Lemuel Vargas

Yea, we know. She is just a figment of our imagination…#sarc#

The Daily Currant is a “SATIRICAL” newspaper. Funny to read at times but nothing is true.. There is another story about a town naming a land fill after Obama.

  • No Justice No Peace

It’s a serious disgrace that you have media and country that gives people like her ANY kind of platform.

  • thrashish

    i concur. 6102 nilap/zurc!

  • Ezrad Lionel

I would have thought that after such a lengthy exposition that it would be obvious that the “pragmatist” is keenly aware that “The Daily Currant” is satire, knows what satire is, and is well aware that this article was “made up”.

I on the other hand have no idea what I am talking about. See below for more random words.

Nilap Sr. ruined the Martian economy, can we expect anything different from Nilap II?

  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yHl24QynOM VolvoDriver

Many of the comments she made were either completely misquoted or taken out of context by your beloved leftist media. Fools like you make mediocre people like Sarah Palin seem like geniuses.

  • pragmastist

I suppose the Katie Couric interview was edited to make her look unqualified for vice president.

  • Bill

As I said before, people on the right can get upset with me, but can you imagine, that if John McCain won the Presidency in 2008, this dumb as woman would be one step from being the President. God knows what he is doing allowing Obama to win. Sarah Palin is the dumbest want-a-be politician that I have ever seen. If any of you Conservative far Right Wingers or Tea Baggers that don’t like my post about uninformed Sarah, you can kiss my azz!

  • Bill

You have been living in the Twilight Zone or you need to double up on your medication with that crap you posted or have you been experimenting with meth? You sound just as ditsy as brainless Sarah. She quit and did not finish her term as Governor, she has been convicted of abusing her power as Governor, lately her and her family was involved in a drunken brawl…I can go on but if you think she is the best thing since slice bread you have that right….But you sound as if you are kind of brainless too. Face it she has had more than her 15 minutes in the lime light it is time for her to go back to Alaska and crawl back into an igloo.

More hilarious is your tenuous grip on reality.

  • jkjcks

She is a force to be reckoned with and would make a GREAT President. Might I suggest this hashtag?
    #Draft Palin 2016

  • jkjcks

She left for the good of Alaska.
Your buddies made false accusations against her and the State of Alaska was being negatively impacted as a result.
Unlike your heroes Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Al Gore, John Kerry et al., she put her personal ambitions aside and pursued the greater good.

  • jkjcks

What’s funny is that those two couldn’t possibly mess things up as much as our current POTUS and his VP.

  • jkjcks

You made one coherent statement in your post and that only lasted for 1/2 of a sentence. “God knows what He is doing”
You then immediately lapsed back into incoherence.

  • pragmastist

After watching the last GOP presidential primary debates I am quite confidant that Republicans can mess up anything. I’m no fan of Obama and Biden either, between the pimps of the right, the enablers of the left and the wackadoodle libertarians there are no voices of sanity out there politically.

  • Bill

Seems as if your forgot to take your medication or you are smoking that meth again.

  • Bill

Take your medication-double up on it and leave the Meth alone.

  • Bill

Breezeguy with that post I know you are smoking meth.

  • Bill

Ed, Sarah 15 min. of fame has come and gone. She can’t get 50 people to attend a function that she is at. Give it up and Give up Sarah! unless you enjoy listening to her making stupid statement. Oh you must be a Tea Bagger.

As much as I dislike Sarah Palin this story isn’t true. If you believe that Sarah Palin should run with Cruz for the Presidential elections in 2016 you are nuts!

  • Michael Fox

Least we forget, ( The BRIDGE TO NO WHERE ). Talk about the lines being blurred between fact and fiction. How quickly we forget, that while she was Govenor of Alaska, she fought for and allocated tax payer money for a bridge that cost millions of dollars and upon completion was unable to justify why it was built.

Hey, you drive a Volvo. Maybe you should just go stand in the corner and ask yourself why you drive an ugly Swedish car.

  • Macacamulatta

Palin is a small-town grifter, a species that is almost unique to America. She exists solely to promote herself. She is famous for being well-known. That’s about it. If you feel that makes her qualified to utter advice, good for you, but most people see her as a good-looking buffoon.

  • Lemuel Vargas

“Palin announced she was resigning her office due to the costs and distractions of battling ethics investigations describing the “insane” amount of time and money that both she and the state of Alaska had expended responding to “opposition research”, 150 FOIA requests and 15 “frivolous” legal ethics complaints filed by “political operatives” against her.[2][3][4][5][6][7] She said the state had spent $2 million while she and her husband, Todd, would be spending “more than half a million dollars in legal bills in order to set the record straight.”[8] Media sources backed Palin’s statement that she had incurred large, personal financial debts defending against the ethics charges.”

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resignation_of_Sarah_Palin

    Read and be informed…

  • RiddleMeThat

Blame it all on John McCain!!! Has anyone seen or heard Paul Ryan drawing attention to himself? No! He has gone back to putting his head down and doing some work after being on the 2012 presidential ticket. But not so with Sarah, she of the Palin clan. Since McCain unleashed her on the unsuspecting public in 2008, perpetrating the worse blunder of his political career, it has been a bizarre blend of comedy and ignorance. John McCain owes the nation, and probably the international community, ” a global apology”.

  • Tom Pryor

No, you’re still confused - just because I don’t think much of YOU doesn’t mean I don’t think much at all. Try to update your Obama-hate to reflect current events - your whining is stale and out of date. So 2010… ROFL
