Todd Akin sparked more outrage today as video emerged of the Missouri U.S. Senate candidate attributing the cause of the Great Depression to allowing women to vote.

A video published by an investigative journalist in France shows Akin at a 2006 closed door Club for Growth meeting in which he claims that the passage of the 19th amendment precipitated the worst economic depression in modern history.

Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann courted controversy today by claiming that falafel and other "jihadi foods" should be banned from school lunches in the United States.

Yesterday the magazine Mother Jones unveiled a leaked video tape that showed U.S. Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney asserting that 47% of the country would never vote for him because they are "victims" who are "dependent on Obama" and don't take responsibility for themselves.

Today the controversy widened further with the impending release of a new portion of the video in which Romney unloaded on America's Hispanic population, claiming they are "losers" and "freeloaders" who are only in the United States to claim welfare benefits.
